Praised by critics for her even, lustrous tone, vocal flexibility and stage presence, Mirouslava Yordanova embraces a wide variety of repertoire from baroque to contemporary music.

She has been invited to work with companies such as the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Opera National de Paris, Monte Carlo Opera, Ópera de Tenerife, Sofia National Opera, Timisoara and Cluj Opera houses. She also sang with the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, with Maastricht Chamber Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic, at the Dordrech Belcanto Festival, the Tenerife Opera Festival, the Immling Festival, Festival Lirico in Florence, the Timisoara Opera Festival, and has been a regular guest at the Buxton Festival in England.

As well as opera performances Ms. Yordanova is equally at home on the concert platform, giving recitals throughout Europe. Some of them particularly devoted to the songs of Pauline Viardot, the famous 19th century diva and composer. Her concert appearances have included Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Haydn’s Stabat Mater, Liszt’s Via Crucis, Beethoven 9th Symphony and Verdi’s Requiem (televised by the BBC).

Bulgarian-British mezzosoprano was born in Sofia, Bulgaria and now lives in Great Britain. She began her musical training as a pianist and went on to study singing at the National School of Music in Sofia. After graduating with distinction her training continued at the State Academy of Music after which she was immediately engaged as a principal soloist at the Sofia National Opera.

A prize-winner in several major competitions in Bulgaria and also at the “Riccardo Zandonai” competition in Italy, Mirouslava Yordanova represented Bulgaria in the prestigious BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition.

Some recent and future highlights are Carmen, Eboli and Beethoven 9th Symphony in Bulgaria , Verdi Requiem at Jaén Cathedral in Spain and the title role of “Carmen” at the 25th DomStufen Festspiele 2018 in Erfurt, Germany.

Her discography include two CDs featuring rare cantatas by G.B. Sammartini recorded for the NAXOS label.

Reviews
